Update from Minnesota

Hi all,

It's Harrison.

I don't have much to report.

I spent the last two weeks traveling--to Nebraska for the Great Plains Theatre Conference in Omaha where my play SWEET was read as part of the PlayLabs series and then home to Manhattan where I hung out with mom and dad and grandma A and took a side trip to Wichita with James, Megan and Landon to see Jonathan and Ashley AND THEIR HOUSE!

I'm now back in Minnesota trying to tie up all of my writing loose ends and waiting to hear back about several possible summer opportunities.

Good news:

It seems as though I may have wrangled commissions from both The History Theatre in St. Paul, MN and the National Conservatory Theater Center in San Francisco, CA.

My musical THE LAST QUEEN OF CANAAN is a finalist for The National Alliance for Musical Theatre Festival (NAMT), held in the fall in NYC every year.

I'm a finalist for the Founder's Award at New York Stage & Film.

"Created in honor of the company's founders, Mark Linn-Baker, Max Mayer, and Leslie Urdang, on the occasion of the company's 25th anniversary, this award offers an emerging writer a one-month residency with Stage and Film for this July on the Vassar College campus in Poughkeepsie, NY.  During this time, the writer has the chance to work on his or her own within our rich community of emerging and established writers, be supported closely by New York Stage and Film's artistic staff, and be given a professional reading of his or her latest play at the end of the residency, in addition to a monetary award."

I'll be in NYC workshopping my musical FIVE POINTS later this month and then again in early August. I will also spend three days with the creative team of my musical PARIS BLUES at that time.

Things I'm most excited about: Seeing HAMILTON and FUN HOME on Broadway in August!

Much love to you all!

H
