So... I'm posting.
Kansas is rainy and cold. Unlike New York which was dry, blue skied and less cold. Good thing I like crappy weather.
I am here for Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday. The only holiday I enjoy, really. I am happy to be home.
Happy for a many reasons--family, yes, of course, family, and good food. But also the slower pace and peace and quiet and no obligations.
Home is the perfect place to get things done.
My to-do list for the week:
1. An Act One outline for a musical entitled THE LAST QUEEN OF CANAAN
2. An outline for an adaptation of Geoff Dyer's novel BUT BEAUTIFUL for Ron Cephas Jones
(http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0429171/)
3. First draft of a One Act Play entitled LENA, DOWN SOUTH for Ruby Thomas
4. Notes for a musical re-telling of SAMSON & DELILAH
5. An edit of my most recent play entitled THE SEA & THE STARS
Totally do-able.
In fact, I'm more excited now than I was before I typed the list. Energized even.
That's the Kansas effect.
Happy Thanksgiving indeed.
